From museum passes and materials to borrow (both in-person and online), a Storywalk® to visit, and online storytimes, chair yoga classes, and book discussions to attend, the Victor Farmington Library offers something for everyone. Before COVID, the library was crowded with books and movies, children playing, students and tutors meeting, and people streaming in to attend chair yoga in the Malone Room. Now, we’ve reopened with social distancing, mask-wearing, and cleaning guidelines to protect our community. As case numbers have declined, we’ve been able to bring back some tables so tutors can meet with students.
A vote to grow our library budget for 2022 will take place on May 18th in the Primary School Gymnasium from 6 am to 9 pm. Two online information sessions on the library vote will be held on Wednesday, April 28th, and Tuesday, May 11th at 6:30 pm. Please click either link to register, or e-mail Tim Niver to request a meeting invitation.
We are asking for a small, three-cent increase per thousand dollars of assessed value. If the vote passes, a house valued at $300,000 will contribute an additional $9 to the library per year. This investment will cover the growing cost of materials and the increase in New York State’s minimum wage. It will also allow us to continue exploring a larger, more modern library for Victor and Farmington.
Please vote in-person on 5/18/21. Absentee ballots may be obtained at the office of the Victor Central School District Clerk or by calling the school at (585) 924-3252.
