WHAT: Library budget vote to build a 24,000 square foot library
WHEN: Tuesday, May 17, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
WHERE: Victor Early Childhood School Boardroom
In response to rapid residential growth and escalating demands for state-of-the-art services, Victor Farmington Library leaders have unveiled plans for a new 24,000-square-foot facility at 160 School St. in the village of Victor.
Our new library will provide something for everyone. Our library is more than books. The library also loans DVDs, music CDs, museum passes, craft kits, book bundles, and more. The library provides cultural and educational programming, meeting space for community groups, tutoring space, and public access to computers. Expanding our library allows us to meet growing community needs in all of these areas.
Our new library, sized appropriately for our communities, will enhance the quality of life for current residents and attract future residential and commercial growth.
We are asking for a fifty-five cent increase per thousand dollars of assessed value. If the vote passes, a house valued at $300,000 will contribute an additional $165 to the library per year.
Please vote in person on 5/17/22. The vote will take place on May 17th in the Victor Early Childhood School Boardroom from 6 am to 9 pm. Absentee ballots may be obtained at the office of the Victor Central School District Clerk or by calling the school at (585) 924-3252 after April 18th.
