The Victor Farmington Library offers opportunities for teen volunteers.
School Year Volunteers: We have limited opportunities for teens to volunteer during the school year. We ask volunteers to commit to a regular shift that fits with their schedule and meets the library’s needs. Teen volunteers may be asked to help with any of the following tasks:
- Shelf reading, organizing, and straightening shelves
- Shelving books
- Tidying areas of the library
- Searching for missing books
- Assisting with specific projects or miscellaneous tasks as needed
- Assisting with children or teen events
If you are interested in volunteering at the library, please complete the Teen Volunteer Application and return the application to Dori. You may drop off the application in the library, or send it by email or snail mail.

Teen Tech Tutor Volunteers: If you are a high school student interested in helping library patrons with basic computer and technology skills, please consider applying to volunteer as a Teen Tech Tutor. More information and the application is available on our Teen Tech Tutor page.
Become a VFL Teen Reviewer: Want to tell others about a book you’ve read? Want to see your review in print and earn community service hours at the same time? We are are looking for teens, grades 7-12, to write book reviews for our new Teen Book Review web page and our seasonal newsletter. You will receive community service hours for your time spent writing the review. – For more information, click here.-
Teen Summer Volunteer Program: Our Teen Summer Volunteer Program offers more opportunities for teens to volunteer in the library over the summer, helping with general library tasks and/or assistance with teen and children’s programs. Teen Summer Volunteers are required to attend an orientation and training session in June. Please check back in May for information about the Teen Summer Volunteer Program.
