Saturday, October 21, 10:30 – 12:30 AM: Sand Art Class for Teens
If you saw the sand mandala created at the library in August by Katie Jo Suddaby, you know what a beautiful art form this is! Katie Jo will be here to teach you the basics of sand art, including:
- basic line, dot, and texturing techniques
- how to make shading and 3-D effects
- breathing techniques for sand art and meditation
- history and philosophy that make this artform distinctive
Sand painting is an ancient, delicate art form from Tibet. It is beautiful, meditative and fun to learn!
This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State legislature and administered by Auburn Public Theater.
